Sugar Cookie Hummus

If you’re looking for a way to sneak in some extra nutrition while also getting your sweet fix, this sugar cookie hummus is for you.

Apparently my children will eat anything if it’s called dessert. They don’t care if there are beans in it (like in this dessert hummus or ”chocolate hummus”) or other healthy stuff, they just care that it’s sweet. So whenever I come across a recipe for a new-to-me dessert, I know it’s something I need to try to make FAILSAFE.

Especially when it comes to dessert hummus. Man, oh man, do my kids go crazy for dessert hummus. So when I came across a recipe for a sugar cookie hummus, I knew I had to try my hand at it.

There are several things this recipe has going for it:

  • It’s sweet.
  • It’s made with chickpeas. (YAY extra nutrition.)
  • It kind of tastes like a cookie.

The good news is, these are all things my kids approve of and will happily devour if you give them the go ahead. As for eating it, The Big Kid loved it on flat pretzels and The Little Kid devoured it straight off the spoon. I liked it either way and found it to be a cross between chickpea cookie dough and dessert hummus.

So if you’re looking for a new way to eat chickpeas or want to give your hummus a little extra kick of fun, I highly recommend giving this one a try. And if you’re more of a savory dip kind of person, I would suggest giving this white bean dip a try.
