FAILSAFE Spice Rub

Tired of the lack of flavorings on a low-chemical diet? This FAILSAFE spice rub is just the ticket, with a punch of flavor and all safe ingredients. It’s truly the perfect addition to your (almost empty) FAILSAFE spice drawer.

When first jumping into a FAILSAFE diet, most people complain about the lack of variety when it comes to flavors. There are very few safe herbs and flavorings, which can be especially tricky (and more than a little depressing) when you’re used to a big variety.

This lack of variety is definitely something that I have struggled with and one that I have begun to focus on recently with the making of my own homemade seasonings like dried leeks and leek powder and celery salt. Both of those are paired with brown sugar and a little garlic powder to create this flavorful FAILSAFE spice rub.

I’ve used the spice rub on chicken AND beef now and a few times and find it to be a nice change of pace from our usual. It adds a lovely pop of flavor and makes me feel a little less bored and a little less mad that my spice drawer is e m p t y.

So do yourself a favor and make some dried leek powder and celery salt PRONTO so that you can turn them into THIS spice rub.

    1. As far as I know, regular iodized salt (table salt) is FAILSAFE, but you may want to double check that with some of the FAILSAFE groups online since I’ve been out of the diet for quite some time now and may not be up to date on what is and isn’t allowed.
